SUMMER BIBLE READING AWARDS

MVCA recognizes students who complete its Summer Bible Reading Program. Students receive awards based on the number of chapters read throughout the summer.

SEE YOU AT THE POLE

Lifting up prayers for America, students at MVCA join others from the U.S. and around the world in prayer during the annual See You At The Pole - National Day of Prayer. SYATP is a grass-roots prayer event that began in Texas in 1990. Students gather at their school flagpoles to intercede for their leaders, schools and families.

SERVE-A-THON

This event is part of MVCA's annual fund drive, the Lending Hands, Lifting Hearts Serve-A-Thon Event. MVCA students raise pledges that will go to the general operating fund. Instead of bowling or walking, our students go out into the community to share the love of Christ by lending their hands in practical works of service. The Serve-A-Thon is the culmination of a two month focus on serving Christ by serving others.

PIONEER DAY

Third and Fourth grade classes at MVCA participate in Pioneer Day, an all-day, outside event usually held in October. This fun-filled experience incorporates the study of history and reading. Students dress in period clothing and complete projects at various stations to help them learn how pioneers lived, worked and played. Activities include: candle dipping; pioneer games and toys; quilting, making beaded bracelets, rag rugs, lanterns; Indian artifacts; leaf rubbing; pioneer cooking and food; and more.

GRANDPARENTS/SOMEONE SPECIAL DAY

Grandparents or your child's special guest will join us on this day in November for lunch and more. Students in grades K-6 give a musical presentation, and guests may visit classrooms and engage in activities with our students. It's a great way to bring the generations together!

CHRISTMAS MUSICAL

Students in grades K-6 utilize their musical and dramatic talents to present a Christmas pageant while our older students from the drama department put on a production as well. This event is always a crowd pleaser.

OPEN HOUSE

An opportunity to visit MVCA, hear from faculty and staff, and tour our facility. It's a wonderful way to discover the benefits of the education your child will receive at the Academy. Great for parents, grandparents, and friends. This event is usually held in January.

FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE

This is a special evening with Dad for all 1st - 6th grade girls. Dads and daughters get to dress up, dance and enjoy refreshments. Pictures are taken by a professional photographer. Each dad receives a 5X7 picture from this fun night.

MISSION TRIPS

Our 6th-12th grade students travel to various areas in the country to minister to those in need as an extension of learning to serve Christ through serving others.

SILENT AUCTION

MVCA'a Annual Silent Auction is a great evening of fun, fellowship and food - and shopping! Attendees bid at both live and silent portions for items such as: nights out on the town; sports merchandise; service gift certificates; weekends away; hotel and restaurant gift certificates; accessories; jewelry; appliances; toys; clothing; art and more. Monies raised go to the general operating fund.

MVCA ART FESTIVAL

Every child in pre-school through 12th grade will have a special work of art on display. The evening includes a performance from our musical theater department. You don't want to miss this explosion of creativity and color! This event is held in the spring on a Saturday evening.

4TH GRADE CAMPING TRIP

Every year this grade takes a two day field trip as part of their Ohio and Social Studies curriculum. Their trip includes a visit to Ripley, Ohio, an important stop on the Underground Railroad. They lodge at Shawnee State Park and enjoy many natural science adventures.
