Athletics

Matt Blandin

Athletic Director

I am thrilled to serve the MVCA family as the Athletic Director! Over my 17 years in interscholastic educational athletics, I have witnessed God use the athletic experience to allow students to discover how to impact the world around them for Christ. God created our human bodies and has given us many talents and abilities. Athletics performed in their proper Christian context can be greatly beneficial in developing these talents and abilities through spiritual, physical, and mental means. In today’s world, many of the most popular and published athletes are the ones aiming to glorify themselves, rather than God through their actions. At MVCA, we seek to focus on the many truths about Christian athletics that are from God’s word and set us apart from the “world’s” viewpoint of athletics. It is fundamental that each Christian athlete, coach, parent, and supporter at MVCA be willing to surrender, make changes, grow and mature so that God will be glorified in all that we do as MVCA Lions.

Governing Associations and Conference Memberships:

OSHAA  Ohio High School Athletic Association

Membership requires many areas of a program to meet standards of excellence. Schools seeking membership in the OHSAA must sponsor a minimum of two OHSAA recognized sports per sport season and compete in a minimum of 50% of the maximum allowable regular season contests in each sport. The OSHAA establishes and regulates regular season and tournament standards in order for competition to be fair and equitable.

MVC  Miami Valley Conference

One of the premier athletic conferences in Ohio, boasting nearly twenty-five State Championship teams in the last twenty years. The MVC features a unique two-division alignment which allows for the most competitive scenarios for all schools.
